#31 - Hobo Sonn “Synthetic Preserves” (C60)
A synthetic sermon in heavy stereo from UK’s finest ampler-sampler, Hobo Sonn. It’s like a home gym for the flabby minded. It takes you back to thinking that thunder and lightning are manifestations of some god’s wrath. Relentless bashing of the hopelessly burned mind with the same joyous truth: that it is appointed unto all folks frequently to die. It’s like it’s the future, again, but this time the good guys have the biggest lasers. It’s like two fat guys welding those Japanese pet-robots on sleep depravation and over-time pay in a factory made out of sparks. An electronic anthem for the skewed viewed few. -TA
#32 - Spoils and Relics “Ammonium Bulb” (C30)
The professors of sound fuckery get right inside your head and rip that shit wide open. Something is being assembled, I’m sure, but how many functioning orifices will the resulting beauty have is your guess. Imagine making sweet love all through a hot night only to discover that your loved one is in fact a C30 cassette with two holes and over a minute of blank at the end of each side. S&R do the unhurried hunting and gathering of sound to the notch and with zero wank. Another static aural delight. -TA

Pure darkness with no aggression from the Finnish psychedelic noise-drone master, Haare. Beautifully old-skool maneuver with circular-saw-tamburas and feedbacking plastic mics. Soundtrack to these here dark days in the endless tunnel of relentless emotional stabbing with little release but to 4-track. Make it bad for brains. Make it vomity. This one’s gonna happy-slap you right on the cheekies. On A-side a man loses his shit in an unfurnished basement with some serious wiring problems. On side B the bad memory, or is it the smell, of the same incident ruins a perfectly reasonable community re-development project. Comes with a zine by Fritz Welch (Peeesseye, humansacrifice, Brittle Hammer Trio, lots others). PIMFWS is him and Jaime Fennelly (Peeesseye, Acid Birds, Mind Over Mirrors, lots others).
